Aniza is currently our Resident Partner at our Johor Bahru office. She is a graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University, England and a Barrister of the Lincoln’s Inn, England and was called to the English Bar in 1992. She was later admitted and enrolled as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1994.
She has over the years been involved in many major private and government related projects in Johor. She has extensive experience in advising and drafting of legal documents for private and public companies, state governments and state agencies.
She specializes in the areas of privatization, joint ventures with equity or non-equity participations and mergers and acquisitions, her skills also include advising, drafting and negotiating of commercial contracts for various business activities such as construction, mining concessions, agricultural and estate plantations, manufacturing and international cross-border ferry terminal operations.
Her current practice also encompass advisory work on project development and management and drafting documents in respect of project finance, property finance, corporate banking and bridging finance for both conventional and Syariah compliance security documents such as debentures, assignment of project accounts, assignment of project proceeds, assignment of contract proceeds, assignment of benefits under insurances, assignment of advance payment and memorandum of deposits.
She has extensive knowledge and experience in advising on real property matters in Johor and has also given several talks on development of housing industry laws to several property developers in Johor and Kuala Lumpur.
