Aznam, having been called to the English Bar in 1985 and the Malaysian Bar in 1986 has an extensive experience in Litigation Practice. He commenced his practice as a litigator in a large commercial firm in Kuala Lumpur, where for almost 8 years he was involved in commercial litigation particularly in Banking recovery work and insolvency. He has represented clients in all courts including the highest court the in Malaysia, the Supreme Court.

In the 1993, he left the firm to start up, as a founding partner the present practice Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill. At Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill he maintained his practice in Commercial Litigation in particular banking recovery and insolvencies.

In order to address the need of the firm then, Aznam subsequently shifted his practice to that of a corporate practice, where he was particularly involved in Banking and Finance and Corporate advisory work.

He continued in this practice are until he was elected as the Managing Partner of the firm in 1998 where during his tenure he oversaw the growth of the firm from the mid sized practice that it was then to being one of the largest firm in the country today.

Aznam has retired as the Managing Partner and has now reverted back to his corporate practice. He is a Trustee of Yayasan Tun Hussein and currently sits on the board of Nunsfurd Bhd, Mikro MSC Bhd and I&P Sdn Bhd, a company within the PNB group of companies.
