Ng Leong Huat graduated from Monash University, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia with a Bachelor of Law degree and a Bachelor of Economics (Accounting) degree. He was called to the Victorian Bar in 1984 and has been in practice in Kuala Lumpur since the date of his admission to the Malaysian bar in 1985.

Leong Huat has broad experience in insolvency, receivership, foreclosure and loan recovery work, most of which were conducted on behalf of banks and other financial institutions during his initial years in practice. As one of the founding partners of Lee Hishammuddin, Leong Huat, developed our banking and finance practice and has wide experience in security documentation.

Leong Huat now primarily advises clients on corporate and commercial matters. He has wide experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate structures and schemes, initial public offers and listings of securities on the Malaysian stock exchange and the Malaysian capital market.

Leong Huat works closely with Malaysian corporations in their dealings with the Malaysian government in respect of infrastructure projects, toll road concessions and defence contracts. He regularly advises Malaysian corporations in their ventures out of Malaysia into the ASEAN countries and China.

Leong Huat is recommended by the Legal 500 2008/2009 in "Capital Market". He is mentioned in the Legal 500 2008/2009 as "well respected" in "Corporate and M&A" and is a leading individual in "Corporate/M&A".
