In 2002, Eu Jin left legal practice to join a regional investment banking group, where he headed one of its subsidiaries as chief operating officer and executive director. Besides his responsibilities in building the business and clientele, he was involved in the legal, regulatory and operational aspects of the various transactions in which the company acted as trustee. His seven-year stint there enabled him to gain in-depth knowledge and extensive experience in corporate and securities law, in particular private debt securities, asset-backed securitization and real estate investment trusts.
The certified financial planner with three finance bestsellers under his belt has also written on wealth protection and preservation, estate planning and business succession planning for local publications such as The Edge Malaysia and Smart Investor. And, despite a tight schedule, Eu Jin manages to find time to go on the conference circuit, having been a featured speaker at events and seminars organised by Bursa Malaysia, Securities Commission Malaysia and the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia, among others.
Eu Jin, who qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, also holds a Master of Laws in International Banking and Finance from University College London and a Master of Business Administration from Edinburgh Business School.
Ong Eu Jin joined Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill as a partner on 1 December 2010.
