Intellectual Property

• We have successful assisted PT. Selera Indonesia Makmur in this matter where Ducking Sdn Bhd has agreed to cease using its existing logo and stop using certain material which infringed Duck King Group’s copyright.
• We have recently successfully argued before the Court of Appeal where the Court of Appeal has overturned the High Court’s decision and strike out the claim by Fazaruddin Bin Ibrahim against Parkson Corporation on an alleged trademark infringement action.
• We are advising Maxis Communications Berhad, one of Malaysia’s largest telecommunication companies, on the use of the word “AIRCEL” by one Aircel Telecommunications (M) Sdn Bhd.
• We are acting for Eight Eleven Services Sdn Bhd, a company which provides funeral and bereavement services, against Eight One One Funeral Services for copyright and passing off of their logo and trade name “811”.
• We are advising client on world wide trade mark registration and the strategy on trade mark protection; assisting client on trade mark registration.
• We are advising client on some trade mark applications and matters arising from Reg. 16 Control of Tobacco Product Regulations (Amendment 2008).
• We are advising client on their intellectual property rights and on their contracts with service providers to protect client’s intellectual property rights.
