Rosli has a broad commercial practice having experience in a wide variety of commercial and corporate disputes and litigation including international arbitrations in Europe. He has worked closely with international clients in managing their cross border disputes.

Rosli primarily acts as Counsel having appeared at all tiers of the Malaysian Courts up to the Federal Court. His portfolio of litigation work has a particular focus towards corporate litigation such as shareholders disputes, restructuring, recovery, land disputes and also regulatory compliance work.

He has intimate understanding of government workings and various regulatory frameworks.

An accomplished negotiator, Rosli has wide networking that has enabled him to resolve contentious cross border issues internationally and in the region. He secured the release of Malaysian accountants imprisoned in Makassar, Indonesia for violation of local and immigration laws. Rosli is highly regarded by Middle Eastern clients and counterparts.

Rosli was among the first batch of graduates from the law faculty of the International Islamic University. He was admitted and enrolled as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1988 and an advocate of Syariah Court, Wilayah Persekutuan in 1994. He is conversant in both civil law and Syariah law and his expertise is much sought after in conflict of laws situation.

Rosli won the International Law Office (ILO) Clients’ Choice Award 2011 for Litigation and this is what the clients say of him:

“He is simply brilliant at assessing complex situations and finding a business-oriented solution. It goes without saying that he is also a gifted lawyer from a technical point of view.”

“His biggest asset is his sincerity in making each case a learning experience and showing us what we need to do better to avoid similar disputes in future. His approach to in-house counsel is both easy and unintimidating, making him a popular choice.”

“Rosli exudes a strong presence in court and in negotiations, and commands the respect of his adversaries.”

“Rosli goes out of his way to highlight risks and pitfalls without fear or favour. He is always ready to share and pass on his experience and knowledge, as well as helping us to build up our in-house legal expertise.”
