LHAG Partner Invited to Speak in Jakarta, 20 September 2019
Darshendev Singh, a partner with the Energy, Infrastructure & Projects and International Arbitration Practice at Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill and head of the firm’s Adjudication Practice, has been invited by the Bali International Arbitration & Mediation Center to speak in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 20 September 2019.
The half-day conference aims to discuss the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation (known as the “Singapore Convention”), which was signed by 46 countries last month.
During the second session, “Mediation from the Perspective of Lawyers: Approaches and Tips to Succeed in Practice”, Darshendev will share his thoughts on where the future lies for mediation as a form of alternative dispute resolution, as well as strategies towards achieving an outcome that is both successful and cost effective.
Besides being a registered arbitrator with the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) and the Bangalore International Mediation, Arbitration & Conciliation Centre (BIMACC), Darshendev also regularly sits as an adjudicator in disputes brought under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 and represents clients in international and domestic arbitration, litigation, mediation and adjudication. The Legal 500 has described him as a lawyer who “always delivers in a timely fashion”.
Darshendev is also a frequent speaker on the international circuit on issues related to his areas of practice and contributes to global publications on the arbitration and construction law landscape.
