Darshendev Singh, a partner with the Energy, Infrastructure & Projects and International Arbitration Practice Group at Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill, has been invited to speak at the India Disputes Conference in London, the UK, on 26 June 2019.
The conference aims to address fundamental issues surrounding disputes in the second most populous country in the world, its regulatory barriers, and what the future holds for it. At the panel session, “Global Challengers in Arbitration: Jurisdictions Edition”, Darshendev will share insights into recent changes in the arbitration climate in India, and whether parties should look to other jurisdictions such as Malaysia when resolving disputes.
A registered arbitrator with the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) and the Bangalore International Mediation, Arbitration & Conciliation Centre (BIMACC), Darshendev also regularly sits as an adjudicator in disputes brought under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 and represents clients in adjudication, litigation and both international and domestic arbitration. The Legal 500 has described him as a lawyer who “always delivers in a timely fashion”.
The current chairperson of the Young Members’ Group of CIArb (Malaysia), Darshendev is also a frequent speaker on the international circuit on issues related to his areas of practice and contributes to global publications on the arbitration and construction law landscape.
